Over 15% of Community Credit Union’s loans are coming in via their brand new brochure website. Their new website is also helping them achieve Marketing goals, whilst delivering an excellent (and extremely secure) experience to their members.

New website a driving force for loan applications

With Community’s new website, it’s easy for members to discover exactly what they’re looking for. For most prospective members, the website is their first impression of the Credit Union, and if they aren’t impressed with it, they may take their finances elsewhere.

The new and improved loans calculator is right up top and centre of their website. It’s extremely easy to use, and accurate to within a few cents. This tool allows members to see exactly how much they’d expect to pay back and start an online loan application right away.

The website is a vital lead capturing tool, allowing members to apply for a loan 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from the comfort and safety of their own home. In just 2 months, Community Credit Union have already had 165 loan enquiries through their website.


Our offices are closed on Sunday and Monday but having our new website means our loan officers arrive with new loan applications to review on Tuesday morning. Staff can review these applications in a matter of minutes and alert members if their loan is approved, with some payouts occurring by the close of play Tuesday. This is an excellent service we offer to our members, and without our new website, they may have looked for credit elsewhere. We’re currently trending over 15% of our total loans coming through our new website.”

Fresh look and feel

Community Credit Union’s previous website was very text-heavy which made for quite a dated appearance. They wanted their members to visit their website and immediately understand what offers were available to them. Easy navigation was really important so members could find exactly what they were looking for in a short amount of time. A drop-down menu of loan types is one of the first things a visitor sees when visiting their website.

Having the information upfront on their website also increased the quality of loan applications, as members understood exactly which type of loan was most suitable for them. This meant staff didn’t need to manually follow up with members, resulting in quicker loan processing.

A vital tool to achieve Marketing goals

As well as boosting loan enquiries/applications and offering members a user-friendly experience, Community Credit Union’s marketing team had more goals that this website would help them achieve.

Community want to increase awareness of their social media channels, and with quick links to their Facebook and Twitter sites, they’re seeing an increase in followers to these channels.

Community Credit Union also want to expand their emailing marketing database with quick and simple newsletter signups. With the flexible modules for their homepage, Community Credit Union set up a Newsletter section, whereby members and non-members could sign up to their newsletter.

With live newsfeeds, video embeds and all services described on their website, visitors can interact and engage with Community Credit Union in more ways than ever before.

About Community Credit Union

Community Credit Union was formed on 1st January 2010 through the merger of Clonsilla Credit Union (est. 1982) and Premier Credit Union (est. 1962). This was the first merger in Ireland of two substantial Credit Unions and puts Community Credit Union at the forefront in this area of the development of the Irish Credit Union Movement.

A second merger took place in October 2015 when Community Credit Union merged with West Cabra Credit Union (est. 1967).

Community Credit Union proudly serve 40,000 members in the Dublin 7 and Dublin 15 areas through their offices in Navan Road, Blanchardstown Centre, West Cabra and Laurel Lodge.
