Since making the switch to cuOnline+ 1st Alliance Credit Union are seeing an increase in new membership and growing their loan book. New members can join their Credit Union online and existing members can apply for a loan and e-sign the Credit Agreement from anywhere.

At the beginning of 2019, 1st Alliance Credit Union made the decision to upgrade their banking solution to cuOnline+ (from cuOnline).

cuOnline+ offers more to members than just viewing their finances online – it allows them to make web payments, transfer money between different accounts and e-sign documents. It also allows non-members to join their Credit Union online by inputting all their information, even uploading ID and other relevant documentation.

We are seeing a drastic reduction in time spent on new member applications, as what would take roughly an hour over the counter, now takes less than 15 minutes. Our staff simply review the application in the admin system, and since all the information and documents are uploaded, they can make a decision and alert the member very quickly. A more intuitive solution for members

1st Alliance had cuOnline+ implemented in 3 different stages. Firstly, they updated the look and feel of the banking solution. cuOnline+ provided a much more intuitive solution to their members. Their members could also manage their finances much better and perform payments of different levels.

 

Offering our members, the ability to e-sign documents has been brilliant. They no longer have to take time out of their day to visit the branch, nor do they have to post signed forms back, which typically delays their loan. Once they are accepted for a loan and e-sign their Credit Agreement, they are extremely likely to have the money in their account that same day”

Saving up to 45 minutes with Digital Member Onboarding

In July 2019, 1st Alliance introduced Digital Member Onboarding to their target audience. Onboarding their members digitally provided a much better user experience. Prospective members could join their Credit Union online, at any time. They enter all the relevant information and then upload photos of themselves as well as photos of their ID and utility bills to prove their identity and address. They then receive an email to confirm they’ve been accepted.

Credit Union Staff see all new applications as ‘pending’ and check the details and documents supplied. If an application is rejected, the applicant will receive a letter explaining the reason. Credit Union staff can also request further information, this then sets the application as ‘Doc Requested’ and allows staff to monitor the information on return.

1st Alliance are gaining approximately 50 new members per month via Digital Member Onboarding.
