Last year, Enniscorthy Credit Union looked to refresh their website. There was a huge focus on security since their new website would be the critical gateway to their online services. They also wanted to provide their members with an intuitive experience as well as useful tools such as a loan calculator.
In the beginning, Enniscorthy Credit Union approached a third-party website provider however the security they provided was not up to the standard Enniscorthy were looking for. After speaking with their independent consultant, they approached Wellington IT and their website security was exactly what they required.
Security is so important because they would be capturing personal and sensitive information via lead forms and because their website is a critical gateway to member’s online banking.
They worked together on planning the new website. Enniscorthy’s requirements were clear: a secure, intuitive website for their members. They had a deadline for when they wanted the new site and the project started in early August 2019.

One of Enniscorthy’s key aims was for their members to be able to work out loan repayment estimates for loan types and members to submit an enquiry so they would be captured as leads to help grow their loan book.
A vital element Enniscorthy wanted their website to include was an accurate loan repayment calculator. Originally the loan calculator on the website and cuOnline+ did not match and it was very important to them that the member got accurate and matching loan calculations. Wellington fine-tuned the loan calculator so that the member got a matching result whichever calculator they used.
Typical loan calculators generate results within a few euros; however, Wellington’s loan calculator is now accurate within a few cents.
Enniscorthy have seen a 15% increase in loan applications since their new website went live.
Enniscorthy previously had an ILCU website but wanted their new website to reflect their brand and mission. The look of the new website was highly important to paint the Credit Union in a new light and attract new members.
They wanted their pages, particularly their loan pages, to be more visually appealing and easy to use.
Their new website also needed to be intuitive, informative, and enjoyable for their members to navigate.
Wellington IT has provided upwards of 99.99% brochure website up-time to customers since 2018, and with the advent of Always Online, 100% is always possible.
The website is set up in a way that it is very easily managed by Credit Union staff. Short training was delivered towards the end of the project so staff can easily update details, change URLs, and amend images – essentially change most of the website themselves without any interaction with Wellington IT.
A Wellington representative is also always on-hand for any queries and to perform any complex changes necessary in a timely manner.
We needed our website to be extremely easy to navigate, engaging, full of information on our services and an instrumental tool in growing our loan book. Since going live with our new website, loan applications have increased by 15%. Having a specialised page for each loan with as much information as possible has been great for online advertising across platforms as you can directly direct the interested party to our website.”
